CEO + LEADERSHIP TEAM Coaching

Meet Peter

3X entrepreneur and CEO.

I started my first business with a vision: to create a better life for my growing family.

But as the business grew, my life looked less and less like I’d imagined.

As CEO, I thought it was my job to outwork everybody and solve every problem.

If 40 hours was good then 80 hours must be twice as good. I’d built a great team that wanted to help, but I had appointed myself Chief Firefighting Officer. I was exhausted, frustrated, and I felt unsupported.

Worse, I was missing out on everything at home.

I felt like I was failing my business and my family, but I didn’t know how to get off that hamster wheel. I ate a lot of glass during those years.

As I raced home from work one day, I felt a blinding pain in my chest. I pulled into a nearby hospital convinced I was having a heart attack. It checked out: I was stressed, exhausted, and I couldn’t remember when I’d last had time to exercise.

After a battery of tests, I learned that what I’d actually experienced was a panic attack. And that’s when I knew that something had to change. More to the point, I realized that I was the problem and that I had to change.

I joined peer groups, read all the leadership books, and started self-implementing the Scaling Up system. I was determined to bridge the gap between running the business and leading it, so I could get my life back and clear the path to growth in the business. But, I convinced myself I couldn’t afford a coach and that I could do it alone.

So there I was, doing everything myself again.

Eventually, my self-implementation journey led me to Metronomics and an event where I met Shannon Susko. I joined her group coaching cohort and discovered the power of implementing a growth system like Metronomics with the support of a coach who can see your blind spots, hold you accountable, and lean into the hard conversations.

My team and I grew that business to a successful exit. I went on to lead two more companies through the same transformation, including scaling revenue 6X in three years as CEO of a digital health platform.

Most importantly, when I went from day-to-day firefighting to leading, I got my life back. I showed up to games and recitals and went on family vacations without worrying about coming back to a stack of problems.

Now, I’m on a mission to coach CEOs to lead through the inflection point when what helped you build your business stops scaling it by giving you the tools, straight talk, and support to make bold moves that matter.

And to help you do it without making the mistakes and sacrifices I did because I firmly believe that you can have a great business AND a great life. One doesn’t have to come at the expense of the other.

You're not going to take advice from someone who hasn't walked the walk.

Here’s a quick look at what walking the walk looks like:

I share leadership lessons I learned the hard way on LinkedIn

And the occasional photo from trips with family and friends. And days on the slopes and in the water.
